Two pieces of music that were banned for being too good.

Rumble by Link Wray ¬†released in 1958, the only instrumental ever to be banned from¬†US radio for being too ‘menacing’.

The Misere by Gregorio Allegri composed in the 1630′s. The Pope at the time proclaimed this choral piece to be “too close to God” so it was banned from public performances, and just reserved for certain highfalutin church services (Legend has it that Mozart saw it once when he was 14 and went home and transcribed all 18 minutes of it, effectively becoming the first music pirate).
